Narrowly denied victory last run at Rosehill. Will be positive in the run early. Should go very close.

Most recently gave a sight but was run down late 2nd of 8 in the G2 Hill Stakes at Rosehill on October 10 over 1900m, neck behind Attrition carrying 59kg at $1.70. The race before that struggled in the run home; ran last of 8 in the G1 Underwood Stakes at Caulfield on September 19 over 1800m, 8 len behind Birdman carrying 59kg at $3. Can improve again. Been costly of late but this looks his race to lose.

Bounced back to form last start leading until the shadows. Same task here and will be hard to get past.

Managed to run into 3rd last time at this track. Good enough chance at a very tempting price.

Most recently 3rd of 16 in the G1 Epsom Handicap at this track on October 3 over 1600m, slow going 2.75 len behind God's Window carrying 57.5kg at $31. The race before that 10th of 16 in the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield on September 19 over 1400m, 4.5 len behind Angel Capital carrying 59kg at $26. Has been racing well. Back in form and if he gets it right is a chance of a boil over.

Just starting to peak this preparation, running very well in the Epsom third up. Weight-for-age suits and this trip looks ideal. Go well.

Third-up today and won third-up previously. Resuming 6th of 13 in the LR Tontonan (Sofitel) Stakes at Flemington on September 12 over 1400m, 2 len behind Welcometotheshow with 57.5kg at $26. Second-up 4th of 16 in the G1 Epsom Handicap at this track on October 3 over 1600m, on a slow track; 2.75 len behind God's Window carrying 50kg at $101. Big ask to hold that Epsom form but should be thereabouts.

Decent return in a fast race and went right on with the job by running a blinder in the Epsom. Extra 200m suits, has a case.

Maintained a solid pace but eventually weakened to finish 3rd last start at Rosehill and showing improvement in recent outings. Has plenty of early speed. Winning potential.

Form hard to fault. Most recently raced on the speed and boxed on steadily 3rd of 8 in the G2 Hill Stakes at Rosehill on October 10 over 1900m, 1.1 len behind Attrition carrying 59kg at $9. Before that raced on the speed and boxed on steadily 4th of 14 in the G2 Kingston Town Stakes at this track on September 19 over 2000m, 2.75 len behind The Euphrates carrying 56.5kg at $6.50. Progressing well. Has a big job trying to get past Lindemann but is the best chance of doing so.

No match for the quinella in the last 200m but ran an honest race in the Hill Stakes. Leading hope again under similar conditions.

The start before that 13th of 16 in the G1 Epsom Handicap at this track on October 3 over 1600m, on a slow track; 5 len behind God's Window with 51kg at $91. Looks tested against this line-up.

A bit one-paced but kept coming last week. Fit mare now and worth thought for the exotics.

Second run from a spell ran last of 15 in the G1 Toorak Handicap at Caulfield on October 10 over 1600m, 5 len behind Lady Shenandoah with 53kg at $26. One for trifecta and first four punters.

Never likely from back in the field off a wide draw in the Toorak. Ready to show more third up over further.

Was okay in a sprint home in the Hill Stakes, running the fastest last 600m. Fitter for that run and this is a nice race for him.

LINDERMANN (1) was thereabouts last time out when second in the G2 Hill Stakes at Rosehill over 1900m, beaten a neck. That run should have him rock-hard fit now. Is going well this campaign, recording a win and a minor placing from four starts. Among the leading chances. ELIYASS (3) is closing in on a win, last time out finishing third over 1900m in the G2 Hill Stakes at Rosehill when just 1.1 lengths from the winner. Looks a solid top-three contender. PANOVA (8) was well held over 1600m in the G1 Toorak Handicap at Caulfield last time out. Can do much better this time. TOM KITTEN (2) improved last start to finish third over 1600m at this track. Capable of featuring prominently.

Dabble

ELIYASS (3) Gave plenty of cheek when 3rd last start at Rosehill and form has been improving over recent runs. Has shown early pace in races to date. Should take beating. LINDERMANN (1) Missed by a narrow margin last run at Rosehill. Displays good tactical speed. This field suits. TOM KITTEN (2) Made some ground late when 3rd last time here. Key player. VIVY AIR (7) Backing up quickly. Picked up late ground when 3rd last time at this venue and drawn nicely. Competing at a higher level of competition. Don't overlook.

Racing and Sports

LINDERMANN (1) failed to handle Caulfield two back then started short and looked home only for Attrition to nail him late in the 1900m Rosehill Hill Stakes last start. Likes to bowl along in front and he should pack too much punch for these. ELIYASS (3) followed Lindemann all the way in the Hill Stakes last time and had his chance but could only continue pursuing today's rival, eventually finishing third. Has been up for a while and it is doubtful there is any improvement left this prep. Still too good to rule out. TOM KITTEN (2) returned to form in the Epsom two weeks ago, poking through late to get up for third. His best form is certainly good enough so he must be respected. PANOVA (8) settled last and didn't pass a runner in the Toorak over this trip recently. Fitter now and while a win looks unlikely she is worth throwing in exotics. PLYMOUTH (5) ran out of his skin in the Epsom and the longer trip can only help.

Best Bets

3 and 1 to lead it. LINDERMANN won this easily last year at $1.35 but he totally dictated that day and he may not get things all his won way here with ELIYASS in the race. TOM KITTEN showed lovely improvement in the Epsom after running essentially to expectations in his first two runs back. This now looms as a nice race for him as he extends an extra furlong. He won the G1 on this day as a 3YO (now three years ago!). PLYMOUTH looks beautifully set up to be very hard to beat in the Five Diamonds in two weeks time but he could sneak a win here on the way to that. He was right there with TOM KITTEN in the Epsom but there's a significant weight advantage TOM's way today.
