Second run from a spell tracked the speed and boxed on steadily 4th of 16 in the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield on September 19 over 1400m, 1.3 len behind Angel Capital with 56kg at $4.80. Awful map and hard to tip with any confidence.

Deep into the campaign and only 1 length from the winner in a Caulfield Group 1 last start. Her on-pace pattern has held up in black-type company and she is difficult to beat at 1600m.

FULLY LIT (10) showed good early speed and led throughout to score by 1.2 lengths last start over 1500m in the G3 Cameron Handicap at Newcastle. Takes on tougher opposition this time but a bold showing is expected. AUTUMN BOY (3) found the line nicely to grab second last time out over 1600m in the G1 Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington. Strong record with James McDonald aboard, including two wins. Fitter and ready to win. ATTICA (8) turned in an eye catching run last time when kept coming to finish third in the G2 Tramway Stakes at this track. Suited at the longer journey and gets chance to show best. DECLICHY BOULEVARD (17) finished third when resuming two runs back at Goulburn then progressed nicely last time out to score by 2.25 lengths as public elect over 1600m at this track. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role.

Dabble

ATTICA (8) Good effort to run 3rd last start at the track but testing ability against stronger contenders. Finished 3rd in a trial at Rosehill Gardens on Sept 22nd. One of the major hopes. WELL WRITTEN (6) Charged home to win last time at Ellerslie and making a solid impression to date. Will relish the track conditions. Underrated. AUTUMN BOY (3) Finished amongst the placegetters when 2nd beaten by 2 3/4L last start at Flemington and drawn well. James Mcdonald rates highly. Respect. FULLY LIT (10) Dictated terms in front to win by a margin of 1 1/4L last run at Newcastle but up against a higher level of opposition. Shows good early pace. Has to be included.

Racing and Sports

ATTICA (8) this looks a target race third up after he was strong through the line with the 58kg when third in the G2 Tramway Stakes over 1400m at this track. Since fitted with a 1030m trial placing. Going much better this prep and will relish the fast tempo. AUTUMN BOY (3) ran second to Sheza Alibi over this track and trip in the Doncaster last April. Indicated he was near his best when second in the G1 Makybe Diva Stakes over this trip at Flemington. J Mac sticks from the right draw and has genuine top three claims. DECLICHY BOULEVARD (17) stakes placed mare who will be strong at the business end on the limit. Returned sharp figures last start when saluting over 1600m at this track. Can figure prominently. WELL WRITTEN (6) NZ trained mare undefeated in seven starts. Maps well and has seen early market support. Big chance. FULLY LIT (10) ran second in this race last year and looks to be going even better this prep. Slick winner of the G3 Cameron Handicap at Newcastle. Stays in the mix.

Palmerbet

AUTUMN BOY (3) has won both previous third-up starts, taking the Caulfield and Rosehill Guineas, and he's third-up again off a Makybe Diva second over the mile with a Doncaster placing over this track and trip on the page — James McDonald stays on from barrier one. WELL WRITTEN (6) is unbeaten in seven, won the Proisir first-up and previously took the Soliloquy by six lengths second-up, but this is a steep class rise and she's been handed 3.5kg above her New Zealand rating. CEOLWULF (1) won this race in 2024 with 54kg and has three Group 1 wins since; the 59kg is the anchor, but the pace signed on from several fronts plays into his off-the-speed finish. ATTICA (8) drops from 58kg to 51.5kg third-up and the rise to 1600m suits off a strong Tramway third at Randwick.

Darren Flindell

The Group 1 Epsom is the feature, and looks likely to live up to the top billing with a very competitive field. 8. ATTICA will don the blinkers again after finishing on late for third in the G2 Tramway here 4 weeks ago. He has trialled since then, and should go close. 3. AUTUMN BOY made up a lot of late ground when finishing runner-up behind a champion at Flemington 3 weeks ago. She drops 3kg, and will have JMac in the saddle. If he doesn't get bottled up from the pole position, then he can go one better in this. 17. DECLICHY BOULEVARD was far too strong down in grade at BM88 level here 2 weeks ago, and this company holds no fears. Stick with her, especially with 9.5kg less to carry. 10. FULLY LIT was too slick in the G3 Cameron Handicap at Newcastle, and he will be trying to make all the running here as well. Keep safe. 6. WELL WRITTEN is the champion unbeaten NZ filly making her Australian debut, and to all reports, she has settled in perfectly. Don't risk her. Can win.

Racing Central

PERFUMIST, MATCHA LATTE and FULLY LIT look set to lead early, with WELL WRITTEN tracking them and AUTUMN BOY and ATTICA settling just off the pace for a genuine 1600m test. TOM KITTEN's Flemington Group 1 mile victory remains a strong reference, while the return to 1600m offers an opportunity to recover from his latest Caulfield 10th. AUTUMN BOY's Flemington Group 1 second, beaten 2.8 lengths, was a strong recent effort and the third-up profile is appealing. ATTICA brings consecutive placings in Group 2 and Open company, with the anticipated pressure expected to suit his late finish. WELL WRITTEN comes off a two-length Ellerslie Group 1 win and maps for every opportunity. AUTUMN BOY is preferred over ATTICA, WELL WRITTEN and TOM KITTEN.
