Racing and Sports
BANGKOK HOTTIE (1) got the job done last start by 0.7 lengths in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes at this track over 1400m. Has a strong record this course, scoring at three of six starts. One of the major players. STRIKING ALIBI (2) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid second in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes at this track over 1400m after she came from a long way back on straightening. Goes up a rung or two but she is worth serious consideration. GLOBAL GOAL (3) knuckled down strongly to get within 1.1 lengths of the winner in third last start over 1400m at this track. Dylan Gibbons stays on. Likely improver with strong claims. QUEEN'S GAMBLE (4) was on a winning run of two races but last time out missed the frame when sixth over 1400m in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes at this track. Tommy Berry stays aboard. Must be respected.
Dabble
STRIKING ALIBI (2) Put in a competitive run when placing 2nd beaten by 3/4L last run around here and putting a tidy record together. Expecting to settle positively. Will go close today. BANGKOK HOTTIE (1) Flew home to win last run at this venue but rising in class. Undefeated last 2 starts. Should jump out and bowl along. Warrants a bet. QUEEN'S GAMBLE (4) Average effort when 6th last start at this track and competing at a higher level of competition. Very competitive this campaign. Suited on soft ground. Solid place bet prospects. DE ARMAS (5) Moved ahead of some to finish 5th last run at Warwick Farm and racing over more ground. Has very good closing speed. Drawn beautifully. Up against a more competitive field. Looks a good chance of finishing in the money.
Racing and Sports
STRIKING ALIBI (2) began awkwardly second up along the inside, and returned slashing splits from near last on the turn when the runs came to secure second in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes at this track over 1400m. Will appreciate the smaller field today and can get the better of BANGKOK HOTTIE over the extra ground. BANGKOK HOTTIE (1) had the fitness edge over her main rivals all prep and looks to get the soft lead today. Was off and gone inside the 200m when she stalked the speed for a soft win in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes. Will have little trouble running a solid mile and shapes as the main danger. GLOBAL GOAL (3) underrated filly heading in the right direction. Just under a month between runs when she knuckled down strongly to finish a close third in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes. Strips fitter and expected to go close. QUEEN'S GAMBLE (4) never on the track when sixth in the Tea Rose. Kept up to the mark with a 1200m trial placing and stays in the mix. DE ARMAS (5) can surprise at the big odds.
Darren Flindell
A disappointing small field of 3YO fillies will contest the Group 1 Flight Stakes over 1600m for 750K. 2. STRIKING ALIBI has continued to improve in each of her 2 starts this season, finishing powerfully late here 2 weeks ago when second in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes. The extra 200m will make all the difference, and she can go one better this time. 1. BANGKOK HOTTIE raced on the pace and held off the top pick in the run to the line, and her breeding suggests that the step up to a mile will pose no problem at all. She is drawn to plant herself right on the pace again, and the hat-trick beckons. 3. GLOBAL GOAL was doing her best work late when finishing third in the same race behind the top 2 picks. She will relish getting out to 1600m for the first time, and will be looking to have the last say. 4. QUEEN'S GAMBLE did not run on as well as expected in the Tea Rose when chasing a hat-trick of wins, but looked fine at a recent trial since then. She can make amends. Keep safe.
Racing Central
BANGKOK HOTTIE looks set to lead and should control the race, with STRIKING ALIBI positioned to stalk the speed in a favourable on-pace setup. BANGKOK HOTTIE brings recent Randwick wins over 1400m and 1200m, along with a soft-track placing, making her the runner to beat. STRIKING ALIBI finished second over 1400m last start after interference at the start and being held up near the turn, and the inside run gives her strong claims. GLOBAL GOAL has placed in her latest 1400m and 1200m starts, while the step to 1600m suits her closing profile. QUEEN'S GAMBLE won twice earlier in the preparation but finished 6th over 1400m last start; the class rise is still the query despite a handy map.
