On a six run winning streak. At the latest run ran on from midfield and won by a head in a G1 The Everest at Randwick on October 17 over 1200m on a rain affected track defeating Ka Ying Rising carrying 56.5kg at $6.50. The race before that won by 3 len in the G2 Premiere Stakes at Randwick on October 3 over 1200m in soft going defeating Savvy Hallie with 56.5kg at $1.60. Best sprinter in the country and should prove it again here.

Tough to the line holding off a champion in the Everest, her seventh win from 10 starts at the 1200m. Again hard to beat.

At her fourth run this prep, she has won all three official starts, including a G1 1200m last time. The off-pace map gives her a strong target, and she is the horse to beat.

Third-up today and won third-up previously. First-up made some head-way from midfield; 2nd of 11 in a G2 The Shorts at Randwick on September 19 over 1100m, neck behind Mazu carrying 56kg at $3.70. Second run from a spell 3rd of 12 in a G1 The Everest at Randwick on October 17 over 1200m, on a slow track; 0.6 len behind Tempted with 56.5kg at $19. Racing well. Very good last time and is proven down the straight, main danger.

Acquitted herself well at Royal Ascot and sound at the two runs this time in. Ran well for third to Giga Kick in this race last year.

Deep into her campaign, she was third in the G1 1200m at Randwick last start after finishing runner-up in a G2. An earlier G1 win over 1200m confirms her class; she maps on pace and profiles as the main danger.

Right in the thick of things in the Everest before a game effort behind Pericles last weekend. Worth each-way thought again.

At his seventh run this prep, he comes off a G2 second over 1300m after finishing fourth in the G1 1200m at Randwick. The return to 1200m and pace up front should suit his finishing style, making him a strong winning chance.

Displayed a good turn of foot when winning last start at Caulfield and solid performer at this distance in the past. Made it 2 wins in succession. Not hopeless.

Last start settled well back; won by 1.5 len in the G3 Northwood Plume Stakes at Caulfield on October 10 over 1200m defeating Naifah carrying 58kg at $3.10. Before that settled well back; won by a long-neck in the G3 How Now Stakes at Caulfield on September 19 over 1200m defeating Bridal Waltz carrying 57kg at $7.50. Much harder now but she's got a very good turn of foot.

Second in a Mornington jumpout since making it two Caulfield Group 3 wins in a row. Tougher test here but she is flying.

Fourth-up, she comes here off consecutive G3 wins over 1200m but now faces a sharp rise to G1 grade. The backmarker map makes class the main test, though her recent progress gives her a live outsider's chance.

At her seventh run of the campaign, she finished fifth in the G2 1200m at Randwick last start after winning a G2 over this trip at Flemington two weeks earlier. The inside draw should help her avoid another wide, rearward trip, and she remains a place contender.

The race before that from last on the turn ran second last of 9 in the LR Alinghi Stakes at Caulfield on October 17 over 1100m, 3 len behind Gentle Steel carrying 61kg at $1.90. This looks out of her reach.

Didn't have much luck here last Saturday, held up until too late and game once clear. Looks ready and Group 1 form is sound.

Well into the prep, she improved to second in the G3 1100m at Flemington last start after eighth in a Listed race and fifth in G1 company. Returning to 1200m, the distance of her G1 win earlier this year, offers an each-way angle, though she needs to reproduce that level.

Will roll along but this is much harder.

New stable, ex Joseph Pride. Game in defeat in the McEwen here last start, outbobbed only late. Should again give cheek.

Now twelve-up, he was second in a G2 1200m at Flemington last start, following a 10th at the same grade; he also recorded a G2 win earlier in the prep. He is likely to lead, but pressure from the other on-speed runners makes him a risky inclusion.

TEMPTED (6) is in top form with six wins on end, the latest by a head over 1200m in the G1 The Everest at Randwick three weeks ago. Has a formidable combination with Chad Schofield who has been aboard for her last six wins. Should be in the finish. JOLIESTAR (7) fought on for third last start over 1200m in the G1 The Everest at Randwick, making it three minor placings in a row. Has the talent to find the winners' list. HEADWALL (3) kept coming but just failed to pick up the winner last start over 1300m in the G2 Russell Balding Stakes at Randwick. Hard to beat in this suitable race. CABALLUS (4) held on well to finish third last time out over 1300m in the G2 Russell Balding Stakes at Randwick after leading for much of the way. Well-placed and can feature in the finish.

Dabble

CHARM STONE (8) Outmatched in the final stages of the race when 4th last start at Randwick but competing in a more challenging grade. Damian Lane is a key engagement. Looks promising in this race. JOLIESTAR (7) Finished with intent when 3rd beaten by 1/2L last run at Randwick and will be well suited at the trip. Has not missed the placings this preparation in 2 attempts. Must respect in this event. TEMPTED (6) Strong effort to the line to win last time at Randwick and suited at this trip in the past. Flying this campaign with 3 wins from as many starts. Should be around the mark. GIGA KICK (1) Tailed off when 9th last time at Randwick. Should be swooping on the field late. Proven performer on a soft track. Exotics hope in this event.

Racing and Sports

TEMPTED (6) comes down off conquering Ka Ying Rising in The Everest, putting up a huge performance sitting close to a brutal pace and proving too strong. She'd been towelling up the lead up races and has clearly established herself as the best sprinter in the country. First time down the straight but can't see that being an issue and the Maher yard are impossible to knock so it's hard to be concerned she'll put in a flat one. Shade of odds-on looks very 'tempting'. JOLIESTAR (7) was excellent in The Everest for third and is a Newmarket winner here. Perhaps hits this with a bit more to come and she'll be charging home. HEADWALL (3) was 4th in The Everest and since a very good 2nd to Pericles. Has to turn the tables on the two gun mares but fancy the straight should suit his turn of foot. CABALLUS (4) is another Newmarket winner who has been excellent in the Everest and Russel Balding, he can give a sight up on speed. SKYBIRD (9) might be the blowout if we got a lot of rain.

Best Bets

Mazu and Caballus will make sure this is truly run. TEMPTED is a star but this is her first run down the straight. It shouldn't bother her but she'll be short odds with that in mind. JOLIESTAR was only a neck from her in the Everest and Joliestar has run well down the straight. MAZU and CABALLUS are tough on-pacers who'll keep running. HEADWALL continues to race well without winning. GIGA KICK won this race last year. His form is solid, but not as good as 12 months ago. POINT BARROW is an improving mare who is ready for this stiffer test.

MAZU (2) is expected to lead, with CHARM STONE (8) pressing nearby and giving TEMPTED (6) a target from off the pace. TEMPTED (6) has won her three official starts this campaign, most recently a G1 over 1200m, and is the one to beat. JOLIESTAR (7) finished third in that G1 after a G2 second, while an earlier G1 sprint victory further supports her claims. HEADWALL (3) comes off a G2 second over 1300m and returns to 1200m with speed to chase. POINT BARROW (11) has won her past two G3s at this distance, but the move to G1 level and a backmarker map present the key test.
