KINGS VALLEY (6) drifted back last time but wound up nicely to finish in the placings over 2500m in the G2 Moonee Valley Cup at Flemington just four days ago. Good effort last start and is a definite winning chance. SO YOU ARE (4) was a winner over 2600m in the G3 Atc St Leger Stakes at Randwick last time, racing on the pace before getting the upper hand and scoring by 0.9 lengths. Good record at this journey with two wins and three minor placings from seven starts and should be hard to stop. LITZDEEL (8) last raced just a week ago when fifth over 2400m in the G3 Geelong Cup. Should be thereabouts in this suitable race. SUNTORA (7) was unwanted in betting last start but performed beyond expectations when beaten a nose into second over 2400m in the G2 Herbert Power Stakes at Caulfield. Among the fringe chances.

LITZDEEL (8) On a short turnaround. Peaked towards the finish when 5th last start at Geelong. Key player. SO YOU ARE (4) Finished well when winning last run at Randwick and drawn well. Made it 3 wins on the bounce. Rachel King takes the reins today. Has to be strongly considered. SEE THAT STORM (10) Finished amongst the placegetters when 3rd beaten by 3 3/4L last start at Caulfield. No surprise to see a forward showing and one of the main hopes in this race. SOULCOMBE (5) Backing up quickly for this race. Came in 6th last start at Geelong. Can go through the gears. Looks promising in this race.

Best Bets

A good edition of the Bendigo Cup. KINGS VALLEY has been busy of late and he's been good. He finishes closer in the Caulfield Cup with a little more luck. A gentle tempo in the Moonee Valley Cup on Saturday was probably against him but it allows him to back up here. With Ethan Brown, he's the one to beat. SUNTORA has had two 2400m starts for a 2nd to KINGS VALLEY in the Mornington Cup and a very good 3rd in the Herbert Power. She just needs a little luck from an awkward draw. LITZDEEL looked to hit a flat spot at Geelong last week but she did rally to finish a solid 5th. BERKELEY SQUARE was a good 4th in that race. He didn't fare well at the barrier draw but still looking for him to be charging home. SO YOU ARE has been to Victoria before and disappointing. For Bjorn Baker his form is faultless. He's obviously a good chance. SOULCOMBE is slowly improving. MACHINE GUN GRACIE is forever the hunted on speed. One day it will work for her. STARFORD had excuses in the Caulfield Cup.
